New Lake County Genealogy and History Website Launced

LCSAA Foundation, the parent organization of the Lake County Schools Alumni Association, has launched The Lake County Tennessee Genealogy and History Website.  The address of the website is http://www.lakecountygenealogy.com.  This website will contact historical information and information for genealogical research about Lake County and its citizens.  This website has been built by Randy Turnage who started and maintains the Alumni Websites for LCHS, THS, RHS and Lincoln Schools.

The website now includes 6,382 burial records for cemeteries in Lake County along with 2,247 photographs of graves.   You will be able to locate individuals by name of by cemetery.  Most cemeteries have a 98% accurate index with the exception of Citizens Cemetery and Buckelew.  We are currently looking for volunteers to transcribe and/or photograph these locations.  The cemetery database will be updated on the 1^st and 15^th of each month

Within the next few months, the website will include a database of obituaries of people who have a connection to Lake County residents or are buried in Lake County.

The website will continue to grow and evolve as needed.  Future hopes are to include historical photos, census records, etc.

Corrections or additions to the website may be submitted to genealogy@lcsaa.org or faxed to 901.729.3601.

No funds that are donated to Lake County Schools Alumni Association were used to start this new project or will be used in the future towards this project.  The Lake County Tennessee Genealogy and History is a separate entity and will be funded entirely by donations made to this fund.  Donations for this project may be made Genealogy website or mailed to LCSAA Genealogy - 756 N Auburndale St – Memphis TN 38107

The monthly costs of the 5 alumni sites is approximately $125.00.  We need your help in order to keep these free and accessible to everyone who is interested.  You may make a donation to our General Fund or any Scholarship fund by selecting the "Make A Donation" heading to the left.  All donations are tax deductible.

Who can join?

Anyone who EVER attended a LC School can join the site, regardless of whether you graduated.  If you are a friend/family of Alumni, you also can be added as a guest.  No one was intenionally left off, just please submit your name and I will add you so you are able to create a profile.
